Stephanie was born into a family of jewellers in Christchurch.
After completing a Bachelor of Arts in Art History (Hons) and Spanish, Stephanie and her family moved to Spain where she taught English in a Spanish school for a year.
On returning from Spain in 2010, the Lorimers shifted to Ophir, an old gold mining town in Central Otago.
Stephanie works with gold and silver and incorporates colour into her work with enamel. She collaborates with her husband Peter to make their Damascus steel rings.
This year Stephanie was awarded a scholarship from GIA to complete a course in Gem Identification as part of her studies towards becoming a Gemmologist. She has recently returned from London where she successfully completed the course along with jewellery professionals from all over the world.
