Neil Adcock graduated from the Wellington School of Design in 1979. He exhibited some of his early works in the National Art Gallery in Wellington and spent many years as a creative director in advertising and being involved in design.
Several years ago he followed his passion and bought some jewellery making tools, set up a workshop and with a little help from YouTube, taught himself all the skills he needed.
He quickly gained a dedicated fan base, becoming personal jeweller to Artist Lisa Reihana, where she wore a selection of his works as the artist representing New Zealand at the 57th International Art Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia 2017. And she will be wearing his designs at the Royal Academy of Arts, London and Musee des quai Branly- Jacques Chirac, Paris, where she is an honoured guest, at the opening of “Oceania” exhibition 2018 and 2019 as well as at other international events. Singer “Lorde”. has a piece in her collection.
His work has been selected to be presented to the Musee des Art Decoratifs in 2018. Neil likes to use products unique to New Zealand, Pounamu, NZ Amber, Kauri Copal/Gum and Gem Stones, Gold etc melding these natural treasures to make his unique style of jewellery.
