Michelle And Bill Clarke
Bill Clarke :
I started the business Forged and Crafted 25 years ago after finding I had a real passion for transforming metal into works of art. I started mainly working on blacksmithing projects in the early stages of the business where I made Gates, Balustrades, Ornate Doors and many architecturally designed pieces all of which were commissioned. Now my work consists in stainless steel sculpture of wild life pieces from Birds of Prey to Roaring Stags and many public Monumental pieces.
I work mainly in stainless steel as well as corten, mild steel, copper and aluminium.
Michelle Clarke :
I started making Sculpture 10 years ago once I had finished Home Schooling our two daughters Sarah and Elisha who are also metal artists. I enjoy the freedom sculpting gives me and make anything from Sheep to People but mainly large stainless steel Hares.
I work mainly in stainless steel but also enjoy using copper, mild steel and am looking into introducing coloured aluminium into some of my works.
We are proud to be self-taught as this allows us to see no barriers to what we can imagine and create.
Our work is in private and public installations throughout New Zealand as well as Australia, United Kingdom, Norway and the United States.
We are very fortunate that we can do what we LOVE .
