Lucia was born in Northern Argentina. After acquiring a Law Degree she became interested in the Plastic Arts and also studied Painting.
She emigrated to New Zealand nearly twenty years ago and settled in Dunedin where she studied jewellery with David McLeod, also represented in Eade Gallery, and set up her workshop at her home in Dunedin.
These days she loves to spend as much time as she can with her family at their crib in Omarama, where the hills, stone crags and starry nights remind her of the land where she grew up.
“I think my designs have been influenced for the most part by those landscapes. I like simple, basic shapes and I believe that jewellery should not overwhelm but enhance the beauty of the wearer.”
