Danny Moorwood
Biography
Danny Moorwood began making pots in the mid 1970's after returning to Auckland, having spent 5 years in the U.K. and some time in Sydney. The interest in "Handmade" was in full swing in Australia and New Zealand was following a similar trend.
Danny moved to rural Otago in 1978 where he worked until end of 1989 and then shifted his studio to Dunedin. After 10 years of running a Studio / Gallery he moved his studio to his home in Opoho, a suburb of Dunedin.
“Lustre glazes are my current interest and I have been working on these for a number of years. The possibilities for surface texture and colour through the process of multi firing is vast. However, other styles of work also occupy my time. Priority being good form with simple but effective decoration.”
