Sarah Clarke

Sarah Clarke

  • Biography

From Roxburgh, Central Otago, Sarah was taught to sculpt in stainless steel by her father, artist Bill Clarke. A deep appreciation for art, and the beauty of nature and animals, inspires her work.
Working in stainless steel, an extremely durable medium, allows the sculpted animals Sarah creates to live outside or in. Sarah is influenced by realism in her art, however also finds abstract shapes can express natural forms well.
A qualified Naturopath and Medical Herbalist, Sarah also enjoys painting, although the 3 dimensional aspect of sculpture makes this art form a favourite. Currently residing in Taranaki, Sarah is finding inspiration for future artworks in the diversity of New Zealand wildlife.
