John Grey
Biography
Interested and passionate about photography for many years, very soon
after my taking my first photographs I joined the South Canterbury
Photographic Society, as a schoolboy, in 1961 and PSNZ not long after.
Over the years I have been a member of a number of camera clubs and
small goups of photographers. After years spent in the darkroom the digital
revolution re-stimulated my enthusiasm and I now spend hours in my light
room (office) with Adobe Lightroom.
I retired to Wanaka a few years ago after spending most of my working life
on the West Coast. Here I am actively involved in the Wanaka Camera
Club as a committee member and a past president.
My interests in photography and art are wide, favourite subjects being,
both black and white and colour - portraits, landscapes, people in street
photography, birds and animals, to mention a few. A lot of my photography
has been done on my travels.
A number of my photographs have been accepted and exhibited at National
level and some published. A highlight was receiving a Gold Medal for one
of my photojournalism prints at the PSNZ Convention a few years ago.
These circular prints are a new presentation of some my work.
