  • Biography

My passion for photography has blossomed since moving to Wanaka ten years ago after a busy career in sales and marketing. I just longed to be back in Central Otago again where I spent many years visiting my family in between travel and work. I grew up on a farm in North Otago and as a child spent many holidays visiting my mothers birth place in the high country of Omarama and surrounding McKenzie Basin areas. This is where I gained my deep love of the southern mountains and lakes of the South Island…..I just kept being drawn back by its textural beauty and vast spaces. This is where my heart belongs

I always loved photography in my earlier years as a happy snapper of people and places but it is now an interest that brings great pleasure and dedication. I draw much of my inspiration from the glorious Central Otago landscapes with constantly changing light and amazing seasonal colours. Photographing people is also exacting but very gratifying

I have spent time over the years perfecting the art of composition and capturing moments to photograph by always keeping my camera at hand and seeking out that perfect shot in the early and late hours of a day. Having joined several photography tours I have developed new skills to extract the best out of my Fujifilm camera and lenses and particularly enjoy the long exposure effects with my neutral density lens. I have exhibited and sold my work locally in Wanaka and am regularly asked to photograph family and social events.

My happy place is having my trusty camera in action!!
