Debbie McCaw

  • Biography

Having been born in the New Zealand high country surrounded by mountains my heart belongs in the hills. My upbringing involved being part of the working station this is where I developed the love of horses, dogs and sheep. I like to portray these early experiences in my art work.
I graduated with an agricultural degree to work in agricultural finance supporting the New Zealand farmers. I then retrained to become a teacher and taught children in rural areas. I received much enjoyment in assisting children in their learning journey. Later I was to relink with my childhood creativity to develop my own art. I continue to develop and challenge my own artistic skills endeavouring to express my life’s experiences through my work.
I am married to Ian with three grown children.
Together we have farmed and run a tourism business where I enjoyed meeting people from all around the world. I hope you enjoy my work as I do.
